Mundane. The daily. Everyday life. The mundane.

Lately, I have been struggling with the mundane. The everyday in and outs of life. One day blending into the next. Endless tasks of changing diapers, making meals, cleaning house, folding laundry. The mundane.

It is difficult for me to see value, worth in these tasks. It is challenging to see beyond these days and into the flowers they are blooming. The daily grind feels unimportant, under appreciated and de-valued.

And that is exactly where Satan wants me to be. Where Satan wants all of us to be. Stay at home mom or not Satan attacks all humankind in the area of value and success.

So much so our wings feel damaged at times. We feel like sitting in the dark instead of flying in the light. We would rather wallow in our miserable life then look for the impact. Instead of dreaming, hoping we act paralyzed.

On one of those days, a day when my life felt less than valuable I thought about the dreams I had as a young teen. Dreams of success. Dreams shaped by a culture, a society of speed and progression. As I looked back I realized how few of those dreams, those ideas actually became reality. And amidst the dirty diapers and the piles of laundry my dreams seemed like a joke. “When do I dream? When I am old? The children are gone?”

Maybe it’s not so much about when I dream but how I dream. Maybe if my dreams were in line with God and less with this world…maybe then my days would be less about achieving and more about being. Being present. Being aware. Being in Light and Love.

Diapers, meals, cleaning. It is not the tasks. Accomplishing.

Degrees, business, money. It’s not the stuff with a name on it.

No, it is the daily. Being present. Living every day in Light and Love. Not living to accomplish. Living to love. To share God’s dream. God’s vision.

Pray God’s vision into your life. Walk away from a life of mundane, a life of feeling insignificant and into a life shaped by God’s love.

You are valuable, appreciated, accepted in God’s eyes. Your life matters. God sees you not as a mundane momma but a cherished gem with a hope beyond the dreams of this world…

1 John 2:15-17 Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever. NLT

Isaiah 55:8-9 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts. NKJV

1 Corinthians 2:9 But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him” ESV

1 John 2:14 I have written to you who are God’s children because you know the Father. I have written to you who are mature in the faith because you know Christ, who existed from the beginning. I have written to you who are young in the faith because you are strong. God’s word lives in your hearts, and you have won your battle with the evil one. NLT
