As I sit to write this morning I think what do I have to write? What do I have to offer? I am not filled with knowledge or experience. I am not profound or really anything special. My hands wipe baby butts. My feet walk all around a simple kitchen. My voice sings “Wheels on the Bus” and talks gibberish at times like “ba be be ba ba ra la.” An adventure is the grocery store and at the end of the day, my head hits the pillow hard. Exhaustion in every muscle from crawling on my knees, squatting and dancing with a baby in my arms.

My days are simple, mundane. What do I have? What do I have to offer and encourage you all? I am weak, little, simple.

As I type I am interrupted by the sound of water bouncing off our couch as the roof is leaking again. Rushing over I throw a towel on it and call it good. As I finger the keys my ears perk to the sounds of a sweet toddler trying to rest in the other room.

Who am I? What is this life? What do I have to offer from the crazy, messy, broken me? This life I am trying to live and live well. This life I both love and struggle with.

I know it’s not about me. I know it’s not about this one single life I live. On days like today, I wonder, question. Who am I? And looking up trying to catch a glimpse, Who are You? Who are You, God?

Are You listening to these keys type away? Do You see us all?

There are verses reminding me:

Luke 12:7  And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows. NLT

Psalm 139:2-5 & 16-18 You know when I sit down or stand up.
You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.
You see me when I travel
and when I rest at home.
    You know everything I do.
You know what I am going to say
even before I say it, Lord.
You go before me and follow me.
You place your hand of blessing on my head.

16 You saw me before I was born.
Every day of my life was recorded in your book.
Every moment was laid out
before a single day had passed.

17 How precious are your thoughts about me, O God.
    They cannot be numbered!
18 I can’t even count them;
they outnumber the grains of sand!
And when I wake up,
you are still with me! NLT

Genesis 1:31a  And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. ESV

The world, life, all of creation is not about me and this one single life I am living. However, this one single life matters; matters deeply to our God Creator.

Whether we are wiping poop or landing a business deal. God sees it all. And it all matters…maybe not to the world but to the One who created it all!

You matter more than you think. You are seen by Your Father!
