Have you ever had one of those days when all you want to do is curl up on the couch and get lost in a good book?

Yeah, that is me today. The rain is sliding down the windows and the sky is void of light and color. The “To Do List” is long yet something inside feels overwhelmed and disconnected.

If you haven’t had a day like this or it has been awhile let me paint a little picture. The floors are calling you to mop them as you foot sticks in various places. Your child needs lunch. There are appointments to schedule. Bills to pay. Phone calls to make. You haven’t had a shower and your children are still running wild in their jammies. Piles of dirty clothes beckon you into the laundry room so you close the door. It is an hour before dinner and you have no idea what you are making your family for dinner. Yes, sound familiar? One of those days.

While you never read that book or even sat on the couch somehow the “To Do List” still stands unchecked.

One thing I know for sure that time you spent on the floor playing Legos with your child. That time was not wasted! While nothing on the list got accomplished something far greater, much sweeter happened. And that’s okay. It’s okay if you never got out of your jammies today. It’s okay if the laundry remains piled. It’s okay to have days like that.

I feel this today. I hear God whispering to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

Maybe you need that reminder today as well. Maybe you are struggling. Feeling overwhelmed. Burnt out. Undone. Remember…His grace is available. His grace is more than enough for you today. God is working in and through you. By His grace, you can face the sticky floors, the hungry tummies, the bills, the need for clean clothes. Your expectations will crumble in the mighty power of His grace. Let God carry you today. Let Him hold you in whatever mountain you are facing.

2 Corinthians 12:9 Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. NLT

Lamentations 3:22-24 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.” ESV
