As children, we are told, we are taught to dream and dream big.

We grow up. Life beats us down and we see dreams just as fairy tales. Dreams are for the light-hearted, childlike, and innocent. Dreams twinkle as far out as the stars. A faint, dim light.

While I have experienced these faint and far dreams I have watched them come close in an instant. From a faint twinkle to a bright light shining in front of me.

How did this happen? How did a twinkle become a spotlight of joy?

Prayer and diligence. Over and over we hear there is power in prayer. We pray daily and it seems nothing is happening. God is silent. The situation isn’t changing. Day after day. We pray. Yet we feel dry and empty. However, God’s word says the prayer of the righteous profits much. I plead with you keep praying no matter how dry it may feel.

Diligence. A life that continues on the path. A life that lives in obedience… holy.

What is holy? Jesus Christ is holy. How did He live? He did only what the Father told Him. He loved the unlovable. He served. He lived simply. He prayed.

Today I am dreaming again. I am dreaming that God’s people will grow stronger. That God’s people will stand firm in faith and trust God is greater. That God’s people will pray like never before. That God’s people will love with more passion. That God’s name will be magnified across the globe even in the midst of a pandemic.

Sisters and brothers, keep dreaming. Now is not the time to sit stagnant. Now is the time to raise those arms in acknowledgement of our almighty God. Now is the time to gather your family in prayer. Now is the time to encourage His people. Now is the time to ask Him – ask Him what dreams He has for you!

Yes, God loves you so much He has beautiful dreams in store for you. Don’t be afraid to ask Him. That twinkle out there in the distance is for you.

Pray fervently. Walk diligently.

Dreams come true not by magic but by the power of a magnificent God. Dreams change the world from hopeless to joy-filled. We can dream not because of our greatness but because of his love story from creation to the cross and empty tomb and still ongoing in a world shaken by a Coronavirus.

When you look up at the stars tonight remember that God is still working. God is still writing. God is!
