Many times while holding my crying babies I have wished that they would feel and know my love. And that somehow my love would be enough. It would radiate from my heart to their tender bodies. I wished my mommy love would somehow calm them. Take away any pain, discomfort or fear. Why should my baby be in pain and discomfort when I am near. When love is close enough to touch.
While this is my desire as a mother it is not the reality of the world we live in. Even as adults we struggle with love. Struggle to know and to feel the love from others and even our Creator. We are all loved. Loved by parents, grandparents, friends, other relatives, teachers, coaches, the list goes on. We are loved yet we don’t always know it or feel it. The ones that love us want to take our pain away. They want us to be whole and lively. Love desires the best for another. Love does strong and powerful things for the sake of another.
The love of a mom is strong like a momma bear protects her cubs. So if a mother’s love is strong how much more is the love of our Creator, God?
Such an amazing, great love that He sent His Son as a sacrifice. The ultimate sacrifice for all people. Because of love One died to give us life.
God desires us to be whole and lively. God wants the best for His children. God sent His Son to die to take our pain away. Our Creator loves us so deeply He made a way for us to live free. Free of sin, guilt, shame, burden. He has brought for us peace and joy.
As I hold my baby tonight I am reminded of Love. What Love does! My son may not understand love now but I pray one day he does. I pray one day my love will lead him to a greater Love. The Love that will make him whole.
Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being.
When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross. Philippians 2:6-8 NLT
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 NIV
But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. Romans 5:8
