Clouds filled the sky, rain poured down, my shoes were soaked and my body damp…
The morning was filled with errands on this deary day. I did not want to go outside in the rain, but I knew I had too. Some things can’t wait not matter the weather. I ran in and out of the car several times and by the time I got home I felt the cool rain soaking through my clothes. I changed my clothes and didn’t think any more of it.
After waking up from her afternoon nap my daughter and I went for our routine walk. Now that Spring is here I love getting outside with my baby. Actually she probably loves it even more than I do. She shrieks with baby joy as I strap her into the stroller.
My heart was reflective as my hands wrapped and body pushed the weight across bumpy gravel. I was looking up when I realized there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. Blue. Refreshing, bright blue sky. “Wow!” I thought. “Can’t even tell that this morning was wet and gray.”
Aren’t our lives much like that. There are seasons of pounding rain from dark cloudy skies. We can’t imagine anything better, different. All we see is the deary darkness. It seems like the gray will always be here that the sun is gone forever.
Yet is that true? Will we truly stay in a cloudy season forever? If we believe, if we trust, we will see the change. Right before us. We will look up and realize, “Wow! The sky is blue. Not a cloud in sight. Can’t even tell there was rain!”
Our lives are filled with cloudy seasons and blue ones too. Getting hung up in the clouds doesn’t help us get through. Trust, believe, God will bring you through. God will change the weather right before you.
He knows what our lives need. Clouds and rain or blue and sun. He knows what will grow us. Transform us into His image. Trust Him in every season. He is feeding us, nurturing us. Our lives, like the birds of the air.
Matthew 6:26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? ESV

I do not need to look far to see God’s provision in my life, physically, spiritually and emotionally. Praying today for a thankful attitude attitude to appreciate it all. Thank you for the reminder in Matt6:26
