I found myself on an emotional roller coaster this week. I don’t even like roller coasters anymore but I stepped right up and took a seat. My husband didn’t put me there. Nor did my kids. And certainly, God did not put me there. No, I chose to sit down because I could not handle my circumstances and feelings. I could not process and sort through the flying pieces. I could not figure out how I was going to handle it all.

Did you notice the word most used above? Yes, you got it. I. Absolutely. I can not handle much of anything on my own. I can not even do life without my God. He is the One I need. The One I need to process and sort through the circumstances and emotions. He is the One I need to handle it all.

I was pricked today as I washed dishes that God is with me and all He is asking of me is trust. To trust Him. To trust God with the stuff I am trying to carry. To trust that He already knows how the next few days and weeks will unfold.

Even if the days ahead bring pain. Even if I cry and fall to the ground. Even if it feels like a sand belt is blasting my heart. God is with me. God will see me through. God will see my people through.

God doesn’t want there to be pain. He didn’t design the world with that in mind, yet here we are now in a world torn up with pain. However, God is greater than the pain. God’s love and blessings can outdo our pain any day. God does not want you and I riding the emotional roller coasters. God doesn’t want us on the floor in broken pain.

God wants us, you and I, to trust. Trust Him in all circumstances. Trust Him with yourself and with all your people.

I am reminded of the childhood song “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands.” Yes, He does! Amen!
