Being a woman: single, married, children or not is full of daily callings. A calling to put self aside for another. A submitting, a deep loving that comes best from a place, a beautiful place in the heart. A place touched by God. A place where that woman knows her worth, her identity, her beauty. A place cultivated and nourished. A place open to the mighty working of the Holy Spirit.
Yes, it is in the depths of our hearts where our giving and giving again comes from.
Can you imagine if we all did only what we felt like doing? If we only served when we wanted to? Where would our lives be? And the lives of those we love?
Our daily calling isn’t meant to be easy. Our daily grind isn’t just to bring us what we think we need. No, our daily life is for the glory of ONE. For the One who paid it all.
The hundredth peanut butter and jelly sandwich made, the thousandth time mopping the sticky floors, the sleepless nights, the needed painful discipline, the carpooling and errand running. All of it. All of it has a purpose! A beautiful purpose to bring glory to the ONE; the One who formed you in your mother’s womb.
God knows the days can feel long. God understands giving and giving again doesn’t come naturally. However, He sees the entire artwork of your life. He knows what every season you face will do in your heart. He wants to grow each of us. Grow us intimately closer. Draw us away from self-glory and into His glorious presence.
It is there, in His presence that we can shine a Light. A precious Light our hearts and this world needs.
The daily grind is making a beautiful canvas. We can’t always see it but we can trust. Trust that He will work in and through our ups and downs of life. Pray that God will open up your heart to greater depths to see your beautiful purpose. Your daily grind is painting a beautiful, priceless artwork!
Psalm 139:13 For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. ESV
Luke 6:38 Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back. NLT
Matthew 25:40 The King will answer and say to them, ‘I assure you and most solemnly say to you, to the extent that you did it for one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it for Me.’ AMP
2 Timothy 1:9 For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time—to show us his grace through Christ Jesus. NLT
It is good to reflect on why we are doing what we are doing everyday. We need that God given purpose to get us through the hard days. Good reminders, Melissa.
