We laugh. A deep down, belly jiggle laugh. Tears welling, gasping for air. That kind of laughter. It is medicine. When it’s over and we come back to reality we can’t help but still smile. Maybe even for days to come. One word or phrase can remind us of the scene and instantly we are taken back. Back to the joy, the joy of laughter.<\/p>\n
Have you laughed like that recently? I know. It seems rare in our busy schedules and to-do lists. I never have laughter penciled into my day.<\/p>\n
A few nights ago after my husband and I experienced the belly aching laughter I thought to myself, “Wow! I can’t remember the last time we laughed that hard. It feels so good to laugh, really laugh.”<\/p>\n
Laughter connects us. Connects as humans and I believe, connects us to God. We are created in\u00a0His image. In laughter too we are in His likeness. He wants us to enjoy. He wants us to have lighthearted laughter in our lives.<\/p>\n
Yes, there is a time to be serious. A time when laughter isn’t appropriate however there are times to let it lose. Let your heart laugh. Let your heart fill with the joyful music of laughter.<\/p>\n
I want to challenge you to slow down. Take time. Take time to play with your kids. Spend time with your husband. And when the time arises let laughter fill your lungs. Enjoy the gift of laughter. Enjoy God’s gifts.<\/p>\n
