She loves walking\u00a0on her own and discovering new things. Her personality is beginning to shine.<\/p>\n<p>While she is growing in understanding at the world around her she still has a trusting spirit. She exhibits confidence in some areas yet she seems to know there are limits. My daughter is willing to cry out for help. She is not ashamed of her weaknesses.<\/p>\n<p>When she falls hard and hurts her leg she calls for comfort. At the end of a meal, she asks(or cries) for help out of the chair. She knows she can&#8217;t do everything.<\/p>\n<p>As she bounces\u00a0from room to room playing I notice when something doesn&#8217;t seem right. A loud noise, the front door opens, she is immediately at my side. She comes to me for comfort as well as help. I am safety to her. She knows I meet her needs, that I care for her.<\/p>\n<p>Do we treat our heavenly Father this way? Do we see Him as our comforter and provider? Do we recognize Him as a safe place?<\/p>\n<p>I like my independence. I like knowing I can handle this. I don&#8217;t like seeing my weaknesses. I don&#8217;t like asking for help.<\/p>\n<p>Through my daughter, I am seeing the beauty in a trusting spirit. I am seeing how God wants me to see Him. How God desires for me to have a trusting spirit toward Him.<\/p>\n<p>God is our safe place. God is good. In every season, danger or not God is the place to run, to hide in. He is our comfort zone.<\/p>\n<p>I love comforting my daughter when she is afraid or unsure. I enjoy wrapping my arms around her and assuring her she is safe. Does God not enjoy the same with us? Does God not want us to rest in Him?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>2 Corinthians 12:9\u00a0Each time he said, \u201cMy grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.\u201d So now I am glad to boast about my <\/em>weaknesses,<em> so that the power of Christ can work through me.<\/em> NLT<\/p>\n<p><em>Matthew 11:28\u00a0Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.<\/em> ESV<\/p>\n<p><em>Psalm 52:8\u00a0But I am like an olive tree, thriving in the house of God. I will always trust in God\u2019s unfailing love.<\/em> NLT<\/p>\n<p><em>Psalm 17:8\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-14112\" class=\"text Ps-17-8\">Keep me as the apple of your eye;\u00a0<\/span><\/em><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Ps-17-8\"><em>hide me in the shadow of your wings,<\/em> ESV<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bouncing from room to room, from toy to toy, my daughter is growing in independence.
