What is God time for a mother? Does quiet exist?\u00a0<\/p>\n
When the baby wakes you up every morning at 5:30 am or earlier your day starts with a bang. …And you are off and running. Care for baby, make breakfast – feed the family, wash clothes, play with kids, make lunch – feed the family, mop floors, vacuum living room and on and on.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The list grows throughout the day as a toddler pees on the floor or a baby spills her sippy cup of milk. The tasks are endless. How do we stop? Hit pause\u00a0and just be, be with God? Our Creator wants us to draw close to Him but how do we do that when the needs of others seem to surround us?\u00a0<\/p>\n
I don’t pretend to have the answers or solutions. What I do know is being a mom is demanding work. Being mom is exhausting. And I know that in order to thrive as moms we need God time. We need our relationship with Him to grow.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Recently my husband and I went on a weekend getaway for our fifth anniversary. It was good to just be with him. To focus on him while he talked. To hear his words only. The time away with my husband made me realize how much I love him and need him. Time away with our spouse strengthens our relationship.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Likewise, time with God solidifies our need for him. Reminds us of our limitations and His neverending power.\u00a0<\/p>\n
I know you have heard it all before. We need quiet time with God. We need to spend time in the morning or evening. We need to open our Bibles, pray and study. Every time\u00a0you hear it you think, but how do I do that as a busy mom? How do I find quiet in this house of littles?\u00a0<\/p>\n
Again, I don’t pretend to have the answers for you. However, I do know that if we ask God. Really ask Him He will show us what that looks like for us, individually. He will help us see the time is there. He will give us a desire to be with Him.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Why does that matter? What is the benefit? The closer\u00a0you are to God the more you will draw from His strength. His strength will enable you to be a better mom to your kids. You will see beyond their\u00a0messes and into their hearts.<\/strong> You will see your littles as God sees you. Beautiful. A gift worth fighting and giving all for.\u00a0<\/p>\n A quiet time develops love<\/strong>. It grows our love toward God.\u00a0<\/p>\n I have noticed lately that the more alone time I have with my husband the more I want. The once a month Saturday coffee dates seemed like a lot at first but once we started I only discovered that I craved more. More alone\u00a0time with him. More listening, sharing and just being together in our quiet<\/em>.\u00a0<\/p>\n Do you want to desire God? Do you want to grow in your love relationship with God? Ask God where to start. Ask, then listen. <\/strong>He wants to be with you, too.\u00a0<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Hebrews 11:6\u00a0\u00a0<\/sup>And without faith it is impossible to please <\/em>God, because anyone who comes to him\u00a0must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.<\/em> NIV<\/p>\n Romans 5:8\u00a0But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.<\/span><\/em>\u00a0NLT<\/p>\n James 4:6-8 …But\u00a0he gives more grace. Therefore it says,\u00a0\u201cGod opposes the proud but\u00a0gives grace to the humble.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/sup>Submit yourselves therefore to God.\u00a0Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.<\/span>\u00a0<\/sup>Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.\u00a0Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and\u00a0purify your hearts,\u00a0you double-minded.<\/span><\/em>\u00a0ESV<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" What is God time for a mother?
